First week of school

So the boys are back in school!  Nathan is in Kindergarten and Aaron is in 3rd grade.  They both enjoy school and like their teachers so far!  As for us at home, we have missed them, but Rachelle is enjoying being the oldest and having Mommy all to herself while David is napping. We got her some new princess ponytail holders yesterday and I have already put them in at least a dozen times.  It's fun to have her let me play with her hair though so it's great!  Here are some of my favorite pictures that she had me take of her cute hair.

Flour baby

I don't think I've shared this picture yet and it is too cute not to.  This was on Aug 2, David's half birthday.  I decided that it would be fun to make chocolate roll and David decided it would be fun to play in the flour while Mommy was putting it in the oven.

Getting the most of the rest of our summer

At least one of us was sick for a month (up to about the 10th of July) so we have been trying to get all the fun we can out of the last part of our summer: playing at the splash pad, hanging out with friends, etc. We have been having a ton of fun.  The boys just finished their swim lessons last week and they both had a great time and were able to master the skills that were taught.

One of our favorite parts of the summer was when my cousin Starla was able to come visit with her kids for a few days near the end of July.  We had a blast playing dress up, going to the library for the Dominos dough show,  painting ourselves blue to get free lunch at Blue baker, playing in the sprinklers, going to the splash pad, and making up a play!  It is so fun to have her back in Texas (even though they are still 5 hours away).

Ready to go to Blue Baker for lunch

Outside of Blue Baker!
Another highlight of our summer was yesterday when we headed down to Galveston for the afternoon. We went to Rainforest Cafe for a late lunch.  The kids absolutely loved the atmosphere and David did not even eat very much of his food because he was so enthralled with the animals and jungle surroundings (which is saying a lot because he is very serious about his food and eats a ton).

Then we headed to the beach.  Here are some of my favorite shots (though I didn't have my glasses on so some of them are not very centered)

Oh, and I almost forgot... I got some adorable pictures at the temple a couple weeks ago.
